Keep out! Robots not allowed!
If you had a robot.txt file on your site while beta testing and failed to remove it. It might explain the abject absence of ranking of your site. Similarly, the no index tag also can make your site basically a closed door, which robots cannot open. Remember robots are like those really cool kids that with whom you went to high school. You have to make a good impression or your risk being ostracized, and robots do not want to go anywhere they are not welcome. You give them the cold shoulder, and they will give it right back.
