The College of the Albemarle has recently gone “live” with its new website designed by Charlotte web design and web marketing firm, Web Full Circle. Among the innovative design concepts brought to fruition by Web Full Circle were the seamless integration of the three campuses of the College of the Albemarle through one portal/website. Using state of the art programming and innovative design techniques, Web Full Circle successfully provided the College of the Albemarle with the ability to consolidate its efforts from a functionality standpoint. Moreover, the new Web Full Circle designed website provides several customized features that allow students to maximize the organizational benefits available through the website including a calendar module which can be easily edited by College of Albemarle staff without the need for programming knowledge. Web Full Circle installed their Content Management System on the College of the Albemarle server to allow college staff to easily make content additions or deletions thereby preventing the site from becoming static. The Web Full Circle Content Management System also provides ease of use by basically being laid out in what appears to be a word processing document. Use of this layout also allows users to remain confident in an environment which they are familiar. Moreover, the Web Full Circle Content Management System allows website expansion to be only limited by the extent of time that users want to allocate, rather than by the extent of programming knowledge they have. In addition to use of the Content Management System, Web Full Circle also provided a fully functioning site in Spanish for College of the Albemarle to provide for the growing Hispanic population in the area. From an aesthetic standpoint, Web Full Circle using input from the client as to the need for a professional but friendly design concept was able to successfully design a site that is both professional as well as innovative through the use of flash programming. Ultimately, Web Full Circle was able to successfully meet the client’s goals from both a programming and aesthetic standpoint.
College of the Albemarle is a two year Community College and member of the North Carolina Community College System. College of the Albemarle serves students from the following North Carolina counties: Camden, Currituck, Gates County, Dare, Pasquotank, and Perquiman.
